Public Meetings for Input on the State of the Information & Media Industry
in Zimbabwe
Veritas is sending out this notice as it is important for all media
stakeholders - which includes all members of the public as media readers,
listeners and viewers - to attend the meetings listed below and offer their
views.
The meetings, starting tomorrow Monday 14th April, are part of the Outreach
Programme of the Information and Media Panel of Inquiry [IMPI]. 
This Week's Meetings: 
Marondera, Rusape, Mutare, Chimanimani and Masvingo 
The programme for this week is set out below.  Further meetings at other
venues will follow to enable IMPI to cover the whole country.

The Information and Media Panel of Inquiry [IMPI]
This panel was set up by the Minister of Media, Information and Broadcasting
Services, Jonathan Moyo, on 20th December 2013 following his familiarisation
tours of media houses round the country.   Its task is to inquire into and
assess the operations of Zimbabwe's Information and Media Industry. The
25-member panel is chaired by veteran journalist Geoff Nyarota and its
members include senior journalists and members of other professions.
IMPI's Outreach Programme
IMPI has announced an outreach programme involving public meetings,
interviews, and general discussions with media and information stakeholders
as well as members of the public.  The programme includes a tour of all
provinces of Zimbabwe starting tomorrow Monday 14th April.
All those wishing to attend the meetings scheduled for next week are welcome
at the venues listed above.  They are intended to provide an opportunity for
all interested persons to be involved and help to shape Zimbabwe's
information  and media industry of the future.
